Team KHS will be racing again at the Fontana Nationals this coming weekend. We’ll update you the results as soon as we get them.

El Moro Poker Ride: May 5

Southern California Event

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo this Saturday by mountain biking at Crystal Cove and win great prizes! This is a Poker ride presented by Crystal Cove Interpretive Association in cooperation with the SHARE Mountain Bike Club. Winning hands will win great prizes with grand prize being a KHS Solo-One SE 29er single speed bike, worth over $770!!

KHS will be at the event showcasing mountain bikes, make available repair parts, and possibly have some bikes for demo (depend on availability). We look forward to see you out there!

What’s a Poker Ride? Ride to a minimum of 5 checkpoints throughout the park. Draw a card at each checkpoint. Awards to the top 4 and biggest loser poker hands!
Lunch: bigger & better hot dogs and New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale.

EVENT WRAP-UP post

City of Angels Ride: Sun. Apr. 29

If you live in the Los Angeles area, check us out at the City of Angels Fun Ride this coming Sunday! This great ride benefits the Children Hospital Los Angeles and is escorted by the LAPD for rolling traffic control. KHS is donating multiple bikes for the raffle event and will also be hosting a tent to showcase our 2007 road bikes.

Basic Ride info:

• Location: start and ends in Elysian Park
• Date: Sunday, Apr. 29
• On-site registration: 6:30am
• Ride start time: 7:30am (advanced) or 7:40am (recreational)
• Distance: 33+ miles
• Raffle: 11:45am - 1pm

Additional Sea Otter updates

As some of you know, KHS Team was at Sea Otter racing downhill, slalom, and XC events. The factory team was there with new factory racing jerseys and brand new (still shiny) bikes. The weather, as many of you know, got rainy on Saturday thus affected our dry weather racers. Still, the team did great.

KHS Women Shine at Sea Otter

KHS Factory Racers Melissa Buhl and Brittany VanVleet really shined during the muddy Sea Otter race weekend at the world famous Laguna Seca Raceway. Melissa raced against the biggest names in the sport and stood on the podium in both Womens Pro DH and Pro Slalom, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively. Wonderkid Brittany VanVleet easily won the Junior Girls 15-16 XC, finishing ahead of the second place finisher by nearly one minute. Way to GO!

Tucson’s review on MTNBikeRiders

A few months ago, we loan MTNBikeRiders a Tucson to test and review.  It sounds like they enjoyed riding the bike.  They also confirmed that it’s hard to understand the color on the web, and it’s a fast and strong bike.  Here is the summary of their un-biased review:

The KHS Tucson is a well conceived 29er. It hits a niche, steel geared hardtail 29er, at a very competitive price point as compared to its parts spec sheet. If you’re looking for a fast yet comfortable steel geared hardtail then the Tucson is it, just change the pedals out immediately and sell the Wellgo pedals on ebay.

Dale Holmes Wins Southridge Mountain-Cross Finale
