Sunday May 27th the CashCall Mortgage Cycling Team raced the 21st Annual Barry Wolfe Grand Prix in Westlake, CA. The event was held at a new location this year. A flat and fast 4 corner course that reached just under 1 mile in length. The start being late in the day, the wind had picked up significantly compared to earlier events. “The new Barry Wolfe course was crazy cool. Really fast, nice and open. Which made it very I safe. I love the overhead banner across the finish line, it made it feel pro. The organizers did a great job with the event.” Stated eventual winner Justin Williams.
With 7 riders in the field, CashCall was on the move early on setting temp and creating attacks. Pictured here David Santos, Brian McCulloch and Lee Muse, who were all active through out the race and getting Justin into position for the final sprint.

Michael Weicht had a great ride! He and one other rider, Rudy Napolitano were in a two-man break until 2 laps to go. They had upwards of 25 seconds on the peloton until the Monster Media team decided to put all their horse power on the front and steadily reel them in. With 6 CashCall riders in wait in the bunch, the team was ready to set sprinter Williams up.
The long headwind finish proved to be no match for Williams sprint as he was able to pedal to victory once again.
When asked to recount his win, Williams points to his teammates and their hard work that makes the results a reality. “It’s always nice to win a race, especially when the field is as stacked and packed as Sunday’s. The team rode hard and we thought we had it locked up with Michael up the the road in the final 10 minutes. However, the field never stopped chasing. We got together and made it happen. Brian had a crazy lead-out down the back straight and Santos really made it happen into the last corner.”
