Sea Otter Classic: 5 Podiums & Partner Visits

The Elevate-KHS Pro Cycling Team had a n excellent showing at the 2018 Sea Otter Classic. With 5 podiums including a win on the final day at the Circuit Race, the campaign was very successful. Beyond their podium appearances, however, the riders had the great opportunity to connect with many of the teams partners through out the weekend.

Sea Otter is always a very important weekend for team. Having the chance to meet up with sponsors mid-season is a great way to stay connected as well as learn even more about what is on the forefront of each of the companies products for the season. The team had an autograph hour at Full Speed Ahead and 4iiii Precision Powermeters where they met company staff, fans, and the future stars of cycling.

On the racing front, the team had 3 events to contend. Beginning with the Thursday morning criterium, Gavin Hoover finished 2nd with Nick Torraca 4th, landing their first podium appearance of the weekend.

On the heels of his recent Texas Criterium Championship victory, Nick Torraca sprinted to 2nd place on the challenging Fort Ord Road Race. The team worked diligently to ensure he was placed well going into the final steep 3K climb to the finish.

After a full day with partners and fans on Saturday, the team lined up for the chance to race on the Laguna Seca Raceway and down the historic corkscrew. With sprinter powerhouses Cory Williams and Scott Law, the teams goal was to ensure the race came down to a sprint. As the laps dwindled, so did the field. Coming into the finale, the team executed a textbook lead out sealing to only the win, but second place on the stage as well.
