Over the weekend, Yackle Brothers Racing competed in 4 races: the Elite/Pro/Open STXC, the UCI Junior Series XCO, the 15-18 Junior STXC and the 15-16 Junior XC. We are happy to share that Yackle Brothers Racing stood tall at the end of the weekend with 3 podiums and an 8th in the Elite/Pro STXC!
Though both Nye (a 4th and a 3rd) and Jake performance was most impressive. Jake finished a close 2nd place, just 9 seconds behind the overall winner. Jake handily beat 35 of the 37 Nation’s best 17-18 year-olds. Jake led nearly the entire race, and won the critical sprint battle (1.5 minutes) for the final Singletrack descent. However, after a collision with that knocked Jake off course, he was forced to remount and bring his bike back on course. He descended hard, full gas, and closed the gap in a huge 2 minute effort. This unfortunately left him tapped for the impending sprint but we’re happy to report that he came in a very close 2nd! We are confident that Jake’s next Junior XCO Race at USA Cycling MTB Nationals will be one to watch.
