We take a ride with 2 time USA national Enduro champion Seamus Powell to see how he spends his day to day life in an ever changing world.
There is so much more that goes into the life of a pro mountain biker. Life, sometimes, gets crazy and you have to step back and enjoy what is around you.
Seamus likes to spend time doing other things beside riding his bike and winning races. He enjoys fly fishing and the nature that surrounds him.
Downhill and Enduro racing got on its way for the 2020 season out in Windrock, TN. for the KHS Pro MTB team with the first round of the Southeast race series.
Kailey Skelton was red hot starting the season out in the west and she has stayed hot the last few months.
She was the second seed going into the downhill final and was able to shave 1 minute off here time. that helped her to keep her 2nd overall.
Seamus Powell was hot and ready to race. This marked his first race of the year and he wasted no time on showing what he can do.
All his hard work and training the last few months paid off for him as he was able to take 3rd overall in the Enduro.
Nik Nestoroff was coming off an injury from his last race back in March. He rode solid this past weekend to get him back into the racing swing.
Nik was able to pull off a 5th place finish to cap off the first race back to racing. The tam is now on the way back home to rest up and put in some hard work to get ready for the next Southeast race at Beech mountain resort in North Carolina next month.
Downhill Southeast Series Releases Updated Schedule for Summer 2020
* USAC State Championship
With states in the Southeastern United States opening back up after the COVID-19 pandemic, Downhill Southeast has announced that they will go ahead with 4 races starting in June. Most of the original schedule has been pushed back due to local laws or larger events rescheduling.
Racing will proceed under local guidelines with social distancing techniques in place such as online-only registration, staggered lift lines and modified awards ceremonies. Having a time trial race rather than a mass start event will make it easier for riders to avoid close contact while competing.
The KHS Pro MTB team has been staying fit and are excited to start racing again. Nik Nestoroff and Steven Walton will be racing the downhill crouse, while teammate Seamus Powell will be racing the enduro track. We are stocked to be able to get back to racing and wish the team the very best.
