Eric Young wins 3 stages and the Green Jersey at the Tour de Taiwan

KHS Elevate Webiplex rider Eric Young crossing the finish line in 1st place in stage 5 of the Tour de Taiwan.

Eric Young put his stamp on this year’s Tour de Taiwan with 3 stage wins and the sprinters green jersey!

Excellent team execution on another challenging stage, as Sam Bassetti celebrates in the background!

Eric won the opening stage and then followed up with back to back wins in stage 4 and 5.

Stage 4 was an amazing team effort from the whole squad. George Simpson rode in the break of the day, spending the majority of the 158K race up the road. With 20K remaining, he attacked the break, going solo in his best time trial effort, until the peloton was within striking distance.

Teammate Adam Roberge then launched a solo counter attack with 7 K remaining, as the remainder of the team lined up for the sprint.

Adam was caught with under 2K remaining, and Ulises Castillo and Sam Bassetti helped set Eric Young perfectly for the sprint finale and his 2nd win of the tour.

Piccoli wins queen stage at Tour de Taiwan

Congratulations to James Piccoli and the Elevate KHS pro cycling team on winning the Stage 4, the Queen stage, at the 2019 Tour de Taiwan!

After the race James had this to say, “Today is a really hard stage. On the beautiful road of Nantou county, Sun Moon Lake, so nice here, but the road is very hard. Our strategy was to see if we can make a small group on the climb, because that is my best chance since I don’t sprint very fast. I just tried to attack with 1km to go, and it worked.”

James attacked with 500 meters to go and came to a very comforting gap to win this years 4th stage.
